In a certain frame of mind, we see things from a particular facet. If you are a banker, you see things in terms of finance. If you are a fire fighter you are at a BBQ with extra caution. I am accident prone so I look for sharp corners. Hence, when life has beaten you to a pulp you may have the tendency to be defensive, when you heal you become acutely aware of when someone is trying to do something hurtful to you. Issue being, we need to be able to differentiate and our wisdom tells us to go by what people do, not what people tell you. We have all been told stories, perk up to observe past the novel and see the actor.
What usually happens is that the actor present themselves in a way that appeals to you. They have observed you they think that they know you and they want to prey on your weakness. Smile. Why? Because you saw them before they saw you. They want to place blinders to their behavior and just want you to listen to their words. We are no fools and living positively doesn’t mean being a gullible fool to those trying to pull a fast one. Think positive means understanding that these people exist and knowing that we can disengage from them without apologies.
So for the banker, the firefighter and the klutz – along with their life training, where they are observant for their own good they also know that these things happen and can be resolved. The secret isn’t to avoid the solution it is to face them head-on handle the matter. Stay positive and stay wise. Big hug!
