@ShashaSelflove 10/31/17 – Letter to Myself

You are allowed to grow at any point in your life, no matter how old or how much experience you have. Life is generous that way, we can continue to grow even if we think we are shrinking. We are fortunate to have a generous journey that continues to give us what we need exactly when we need it.

Patience is one of those things that I struggle with, I know how to execute a certain move and I just want to get it over with. It may have something to do with the fact that at work I am constantly bombarded with more work. So, in order to get caught up or stay caught up, I wrap up tasks so it is one less thing on my overflowing list. But, 37 year old Shasha know something that 27 year Shasha doesn’t: Time reveals. Time resolves. Time gives grace. I have learned to reroute my impatience into productive outlets and I have allowed time to unravel certain situations for me. Do I forget?  Yes, every 5 seconds. But I will remind myself or a friend will remind me and I am back at appreciating the wisdom in having patience.

Stay positive, because your journey is more than a hurried race to the finish line. I wrote a letter to myself, it started with quoting something a friend said to me. “You never know the impact you make until someone tells you”, his words ring in my head all the time. Someone you may not even know could be struggling and watching your grace and perseverance may be the only thing helping them push through. Big Hug!

To David, You impact my life in a way that has helped me grow. If no one has told you, let me be the first. Thank you.
